I am pleased to hear that the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad has revised its website for re-launching, which is an informative and interactive. This is one of the oldest Boards which has produced a large number of its secondary and higher secondary education graduates who have been working in various fields with a greater sense of achievement. With a pace of time there has been some deterioration in quality of examination which has badly affected overall quality of education in the province.

The present Government has made up its mind by selecting Boards’ Chairmen, Secretaries, Controller of Examinations and Audit Officers based on transparent competitive process. An induction of the current Chairman, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Hyderabad is the outcome of the competitive process and I hope this vibrant process will further improve Board’s governance, examination conduct, finance and credibility. Today, parents, students and other stakeholders’ expectations have changed and they would like to see more evidence-based change in the conduct of examination for improving quality of education in the province in general and in Hyderabad region in particular which requires a ‘total transformation’ of the Board.

I hope under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Shuja Ahmed who has a track record of creating best practices in education, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad will not only revive its image and credibility but it will fully transform itself as a leading Board moving towards achievement of international standards. I wish the Board to be a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in examination and assessment in future!
